Need to know how to slim down your
neck?
When you are interested in slimming down
the appearance of your neck, you should understand a few facts
concerning the topic. There is no such a thing as reducing weight in
a specific area of your body. For example, if you want to lose all
of the weight in your stomach, there is no way to do a million
sit-ups and it will magically disappear. The result will be tighter,
stronger muscles underneath the fat in your stomach, but in order to
see a difference in a specific area, you must begin a daily exercise
regimen, paired with a low-fat, healthy diet and you will soon see
an overall improvement in your body shape and weight.
Every body is different and concentrates
fat deposits in various areas pertaining to the specific
person. Have you ever
noticed that when you gain weight, there is usually a place in the
body that it tends to go first, such as the thighs or stomach for
some. After your body begins to distribute the fat in its first
choice; it will then deposit it in other areas, such as the face or
fingers. When you begin to exercise or cut back on your eating, you
will notice that the fat seems to leave the areas that it last
attached itself to. The face and fingers will decrease and as you
begin to lose more weight, areas that you first gained the pounds
will begin to disappear. A good way to lose weight with your
exercise program is to get the body moving with more of a cardio
work-out.
Even though you can’t spot reduce, there
have been a few exercises that have worked for a few when it comes
to softening the appearance of neck fat. Some have seen results on
their double chins and have slimmed down their neck by doing
shoulder lifts, as well as front and side raises. The exercise below
is completed by using dumbbells:
Front
Raise
1. Hold dumbbells in both
hands.
2. Keep arms straight. You will be
raising one dumbbell at a time.
3. With knuckles facing downward, slowly
lift one arm up until the dumbbell is above eye-level.
4. Slowly lower arm.
5. Switch
arms.
Another way to achieve an appearance of
slimming down your neck is to engage in neck stretching techniques.
By lengthening and stretching the neck muscles, not only will you
release tightness, but some have achieved the appearance of a
longer, slender neck, taking away from some of the fat deposits that
may have settled in that area. Below you will find three different
stretches to do in one sitting. These techniques are easy-to-do,
where an individual can complete them while working at a desk or
even in front of the television.
Neck
Stretching
1) Sit in a comfortable position.
2) Relax your shoulders and turn your
chin towards your chest.
3) Turn your chin to the right shoulder
as far as it can go without discomfort.
4) Hold for about 30
seconds.
5) Repeat on the other
side.
6) Sit in a comfortable position.
7) Relax your shoulders and move your ear
down towards your right shoulder.
8) Relax your neck as much as possible.
9) Embrace the stretch on the opposite
side.
10) Hold for 30
seconds.
11) Repeat on the other
side.
12) Sit in a comfortable position.
13) Lift your sternum and chin towards
the ceiling.
14) Drop you head back as far as you can
without discomfort.
15) Relax your
shoulders.
16) Exhale and bring your head back to
the center.
17) Drop your chin down towards your
chest. Lengthening your neck.
18) Hold and release.
